URI SEGMENT Replacing DOT ( . ) to underscore ( _ )

Special thanks to Sophistry.

Finally got solution, I have reset the variable

$config['uri_protocol'] = 'AUTO';

TO

$config['uri_protocol'] = 'REQUEST_URI';

in config.php file.

It solved mine too for i send filenames through URI.
the other alternate i thought i should do was to base encode and decode.
Let it run for some time and if there is a problem then i will use base64.
hhmm....
