New Site uses ecommerce built with CI |

zeuscomics.com launched its redesign Thursday. We used CodeIgniter as its main library. The only exception is shpider for search engine results as well as a template library. The premise of Zeus' ecommerce engine rules was simple: we don't want your data, just your money. This means that when customers make a purchase, just like a 'brick and mortar' experience, they don't need to register with the site. They don't create an account or confirm their email address or any of that. I've already got a list of bugs to work through, but so far, it's going well and I hope to have a downloadable version for developers soon. http://www.zeuscomics.com

Wow, This is exactly what I am meant to be creating for PyroCMS. I planned a shop module to integrate with the products and services modules. Would you be interested in contributing to the project? If you do not wish to directly get involved in the coding then I could knock a copy of the rough version into shape. Either way, good job on the cart system.

I'd be too embarrassed to have anyone look at the code just yet. :-) Following best practices and style guides aside, I still feel like I built a house out of Jenga pieces. I definitely want to move all the cart functions to a central library. That's my next step. I think right now is the time to test what I have so far "in the wild". Comics customers are very vocal about what doesn't work for them.

Grab the new Cart library from the Subversion repo. Figured you were using that, would have saved a lot of time! :-p

Hope the Template library is suiting you well ![]()
