CI_Model not found

Hello. I have a problem concerning the "Fatal Error: Class 'CI_Model' not found in C:\xampp\htdocs\project\application\controllers\verification.php". I already checked the system/core/model.php and its seems fine and the $system_path is set correctly to 'system'. Is there any other errors that can cause this because I already spent a good amount of time finding the culprit but to no avail.

btw, sorry for my bad english. I would gladly appreciate any help anyone could offer.

Why are you using CI_Model class in your controller?

thank you so much Aken. i found it out after waking up this morning and just realized upon myself... WHY THE HECK AM I USING CI_MODEL IN MY CONTROLLER! Sorry for such a very dumb question. anyways thanks a lot for replying. Hope i dont encounter such mistakes again in the future
