PHP markdown in "Textile compatibility mode"... how? |

I'm moving a bunch of textile formated post to a CI CMS I'm building and I want to use markdown instead of Textile. I included the PHP markdown file as a helper and it work great. PHP markdown is supposed to have a Textile compatibility mode (described towards the top of that page). I tried to get it working as described but nothing happens. The markdown is still converted successfully but the textile stuff remains as plain text. I'm wondering if anyone's got this compatibility mode working, and if so, how they set it up. Thanks!

Quote:TextPattern use Textile to format your text. You can replace Textile by Markdown in TextPattern without having to change any code by using the Texitle Compatibility Mode. This may work with other software that expect Textile too. I don't think "textile compatibility mode" actually parses textile. I think it's just there to help you replace textile. I'm not sure it's not very clear.

yeah... I came to the same conclusion and gave up on it... Just exported the DB to XML, did a little regex + lots of good old fashion typing (yuk...). I didn't have that many posts so it wasn't too bad. Still spent a few hours on it though... |
