Okay, double-checked that cookies are enabled: they are and have been so far. I do have webdeveloper toolbar installed on FF which allows me to check for cookies, and I have to admit there aren't any cookies being set - regardless of what I'm assigning to them.

I've also checked that the logout function isn't being called.

I'm going to look into whether or not I can get a cookie to set.
