how do i build editor?

The one on this board is very simple and can easily be built with javascript. A 3rd party library like mootools or prototype would speed things up though you don't even really need those. Though for something with more features you may want to look at TinyMCE, FCKeditor or something similar. There are a couple good javascript libs out there.
