Yes, have tried:

but still, 404 Not Found.

Try changing in your .htaccess

RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?/$1 [L]

to

RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php/$1 [L]

Made those changes (and restarted Apache), but no joy! Really puzzles me this..
