stop with the css. insert the image directly into the page using img src, this will give you a few clues as to what the css is doing.... so you would do an <img src="images/nature.jpg"> you can then load it, and view the properties of the image or red x that shows up, and see where the issue is, which will help you diagnose the css issue.
