I'm completely blown away by this thread.
First, why are you here if you're moving to Laravel? Please, by all means, GO to Laravel! I'm sure they'll welcome your attitude with open arms (note the sarcasm).
Second, as others have mentioned, if you have come up with a feature that you'd like to see in CodeIgniter, fork the repository and implement it! Everybody can gain from it. That's the nature of open source. And one of the guys you're being very disrespectful to (Narf) is extremely active in CI development and pushing things forward -- I promise he's more familiar (aka, "wise") than you in every aspect of CI and programming in general.
Third, I understand people wanting to clarify that what he's describing is not a bug at all, but why are we wasting any time trying to convince him anymore? I say when it comes to people with an attitude like that who are filled with hate, let 'em go!
