Email debugger

Lately I got the idea to create a bit of a log whenever mails are sent using a cron job (400 at a time), everything works so far but I'd like to have just a few parts of the print_debugger(), whenever it's a html mail the content get's to big and the file I'm producing isn't nice anymore. Is there a way to just get a few parts of the file? Or to get rid of the content?
