Things to Configure Before Coding?

Hi guys,

Here are the steps I configure before start coding CodeIgniter.

0. Configure HMVC
1. Remove index.php
2. configure .htaccess
3. Set database connection
4. autload libraries; database, session, email
5. autload helpers; url, form, cookie

Can somebody contribute advice/steps and make these steps better/complete.
