Sessions: Actually how much data is 4KB?

Just reading about the sessions class and noted the maximum of 4KB that the cookie can hold? Is this going to be an issue if you were, for example, going to store cart contents (product id & qty) in the encrypted cookie?

Can someone quantify how much 4KB of data actually is?
