I think you have to decide if you are willing to invest much time in getting acquainted with a new language. You will be able to use django in a reasonable time but you will use python the php way which means you will not going to get the best out of django until you know how to use python.

If you use the Expression Engine you get started faster using CI. There is also no Expression Engine for django as far as i know.

I think it's best you focus on one language and you try to learn others just enough to make things working.
