I think CodeIgniter is amazing. I use it everyday where I work, and it allows me to create applications faster.
I love CI, and think that the product, the team, and the members of this site are amazing.
Now as far as Plurious goes, as a developer I spend most of my time taking other peoples code, learning from it, extending it, making it better, and trying to make it work for me.
As a developer I could never purchase any software that is to be used as "part" of a larger application. It limits my control and ability to adapt it to my needs. As we all know as a developer, nothing is ever a "plugin" solution, it always needs some tweaking.
If I was a moderator I would edit this post and closed it down. Leave the first post where he lists his new Auth system, its description and a link.
I am part of this forum for many reasons; to learn, to be motivated, and to oneday hopefully inspire. I don't feel that this forum post does any of those.
All it did was make me feel sad.
