Best way to integrate this CI plugin into EE2?

Hi,

I love EE2, and CodeIgniter, but I totally wish EE had code highlighting. Unfortunately, the only plugin that exists is EE1.x.

Long story short, what would be the best way to integrate this plugin into EE2?

I kinda need a kick in the right direction. EE2 is totally lacking a syntax highliter!!!!
