EAV - Entity Attribute Value - Using CI

I don't see why anything would change with using the method in CI. Wordpress uses this for the custom attributes of the posts/pages. Drupal has it's set_variable functions and corresponding table.

You'll prolly have to mod your model or ORM a bit, but CI shouldn't have much influence in your decision to go this route.
