Reason for not wanting an auth service... |
So the roadmap for phase 2 mentions specifically
Quote:We are *not* looking for any shopping cart or authentication packages. (https://forum.codeigniter.com/thread-65543.html), emphasis mine. I was just wondering the reasons for that? I'm developing one right now (as a service) and is designed to be flexible and make as few assumptions as possible on what it is used for and I was thinking perhaps contributing it later... that is why I'm wondering. Just to be clear. My definition here is that the authentication service is a service which can be used to determine if a session for a given client is authenticated using and identifier (usually email, but it is an abstract identifier in my service) and a password. It should come with all the standard best practices concerning security. It doesn't make any assumptions about roles or rights. So... completely fine if you don't want it in... just wondering... |
