Nope. Ion Auth has to remain independent of any external APIs.

If you want to open source a module that users ion_auth and FB together feel free.

Ive not read the whole 75 pages here so not 100% sure if this has been mentioned.

I think the word groups should be roles instead.

Apart from describing things better lots of sites allow users to create groups and it can get confusing having the same names

I'll consider that for V2 of Ion Auth but the current version will not change because it would break backwards compatibility. Thanks for the input though.

Can I use IonAuth on latest CodeIgniter 2.0 stable release? Did you try it toghether?
I'd like to upgrade and be sure IonAuth will work too
