what version to use ?

i'm starting a new project and i want to know what version to use

the last one from svn
1.7.2 from site download
tip version from bitbucket
or the development one (future 2.0) from bitbucket

i'm interested in the latest stable version with all bugfixes included

has anyone started a project on the future 2.0 version ? is stable enough to use ?
i don't want to go crazy on bug hunting

Yep, I too having the same dilemma.. Will there be so many deprecation of existing functions from 1.7.2 > 2.0? what are the expected changes (aside from CI will not be supporting any longer PHP4)? Is there a big impact on the existing codes we have at 1.7.2 version upgrading to 2.0?

Hope you can light us and give us some advice here? Cause this has been a question moving around my head to start a new project and that of knowing 2.0 is now baking... We'll we/I still used the current version for development or shall we just wait for the 2.0 version?

You're better off using 1.7 since 2.0 is still in active development. There are surely bugs to hunt, and you've already said you don't want to deal with that. The difference between 1.7 and 2 are not going to be that huge that you can't 1) upgrade with a few small fixes or 2) not upgrade at all. If it's not broke, don't fix it, huh?
