Hi all,
intro
I am a HTML/ CSS programmer who knows photoshop and other stuff. on dynamic websites part I have been using wordpress and stuff customizing themes etc
Now i want to get into more serious programming and able to build web based applications.I need your guidance on planning a learning route to be able to build dynamic websites
---what exactly i want to accomplish---
I want to be able to build dynamic websites, custom CMS and applications (prefer ajax) and also would like to learn how to integrate third party tools like Google Maps.
---What would you suggest me considering:---
My educational background:
-Msc in computer science,
-knowledge of basic programming fundamentals C, Java etc.
-Have tried a bit of PHP in the past (just the theory)
My knowledge:
- html, css, photoshop, C, Java basics
- Web hosting (manage wordpress installations)
- Basic of databases mysql PHPmyadmin n all that
--My main problem:--
I have studied programming but it was all theory so i don't have very great programming skills(i just do a bit of html and css) BUT i understand most of the concepts broadly.
So i was thinking that i should start working with code ignitor. Is it a good idea? considering my level knowledge or should i start with something simple
---some other questions(interviewing you)----
1. Can you tell me a a bit about YOUR learning path..
Well just want to know how u learnt codeignitor (would help me in figuring if i could start with codeignitor or something simple like drupal or anything else)
2. Was codeignitor the first thing you did dynamic? If yes, was it easy for you? did you learn it on your own?
3. Is self learning for codeignitor possible? (u are someone u know learnt it on own?)
4. What books would you suggest for intermediate users like me
All help and guidance is Much Appreciated!
