to be honest the bitbucket repo is a fairly stable version at the moment. PyroCMs is running it and so are ellislabs so it cant have that many issues, there is just no official release yet :/

It's stable, use it.

But I'm wondering, why don't EllisLab offers it in the home page of CodeIgniter?? If it's stable... why not?? Thank you!

Stable and final release are two different things. It's stable enough for you to use, but not a final release. I've been using it for months, seriously, you'll be fine.

Is there an official listing of the features/improvements implemented in v2?

The frequency of these threads appearing is increasing day-by-day. Can a mod make a sticky thread titled, "Before asking about Codeigniter's 2.0 Release, Read This!" or something.

There is a changelog in the documentation yes, but remember the documentation is not 100% finished (because it's not a final release).

And yes would a moderator please stick a thread about CI 2? I answer 3 or 4 of these questions every day here and on StackOverflow. It's getting a bit ridiculous.

Do we even have mods?

Yes we do have mods, but I think their busy doing other things.

+1 for Phil's sticky!
