search engine with code igniter

Hi everybody

I am currently working on a DMS where the user stores PDF, ODT or DOCX files.

I'm looking to integrate a search engine for indexing the contents of those documents.

Do you know if it exists is a recommended solution with Code Igniter (V 2.2 or 3, whatever)?

This is a complex task, you have to research a lot for an as easy as possible solution. I know this search engine http://xapian.org , but I can not estimate whether it is a feasible choice.
