yep, your coding is horrible because I say so - and you are now condemned for trying to make something useful.

Welcome to the wonderful world of forums - have a nice day

Its funny really...

I helped one of the first people that took exception to the idea get more exposure for a (somewhat) competing capability yesterday by mentioning that he should put up a CI wiki page. Then after he put up the page, I went and edited that page to place it in another wiki category so he could get even more exposure for his product. Remember, this is a person that has several posts in this very thread that are pretty derogatory toward me personally and my idea.

I'm a fair minded person and I'll continue to help people.

Besides, you can't see my code, it's obfuscated, remember? I'm Dr. Evil Confusednake:

Randy, sad to learn that you let this project as a failure.

Let me tell you what I think: in business, there is no bad ideas, every idea can work and be sold. The failure comes generally from how you sell the idea, and the failure for your library comes from this point. Your commercial concept is totally wrong, from start to end, from the design of your website to the way you've tried to sell it.

You already know my point of view about this as we've been talking by email, but I am really sad to see you didn't want to change your point of view and let fail a library that is maybe nice and helpful.

Christophe,

The community's rejection is the proof the concept has failed. I would have to agree that plays directly at "the way you've tried to sell it".

Please don't mis-interpret my post to mean the software has failed. On the contrary, the library will continue to help others. The other features will be refined as I get time. The ACL is already built, it just isn't documented and lacks features.

So it's still nice and helpful.

There are many, many folks out there with nice and helpful code other than me my friend. Seems security with CI is simple anyway. Ask anyone.

Got you now, I thought you was abandoning development of your library.
The community rejection is a proof that if you change your concept, maybe you will have a chance to sell your lib, don't you think?

I'm not sure that connection can be made, but you said maybe so I'll go along with it.

I will certainly concede that if I not try to sell it at all, give it away for free, support it like a mother supports her suckling child, and write code the way Da Vinci painted...then the community might not reject it.

I think CodeIgniter is amazing. I use it everyday where I work, and it allows me to create applications faster.

I love CI, and think that the product, the team, and the members of this site are amazing.

Now as far as Plurious goes, as a developer I spend most of my time taking other peoples code, learning from it, extending it, making it better, and trying to make it work for me.

As a developer I could never purchase any software that is to be used as "part" of a larger application. It limits my control and ability to adapt it to my needs. As we all know as a developer, nothing is ever a "plugin" solution, it always needs some tweaking.

If I was a moderator I would edit this post and closed it down. Leave the first post where he lists his new Auth system, its description and a link.

I am part of this forum for many reasons; to learn, to be motivated, and to oneday hopefully inspire. I don't feel that this forum post does any of those.

All it did was make me feel sad.

Ironically, your reply brought an old buried post back up to the surface, drawing attention to it again. At any rate, I agree, it's run it's course.
