JPG images are not supported in freakauth

Hello world

I am a newbie in codeigniter and freakauth and I am getting this message.

Your server does not support the GD function required to process this type of image.

JPG images are not supported.

I am using using both firefox and google chrome for my first project. And can anyone explain to me what is GD function? Thanks
