Session data now in a database

I see that CI v1.6.4 now offers DB USERDATA storage OR encrypted cookies. This is a big plus for me as I never did like keeping data in a cookie...

Anyway, are there any updates on when the v1.6.4 will be released? I would just grab it - but I would rather not find the holes if someone is working on them.
