Hi. Let me ask here.
Just saw on github about @narfbg suggestion of using bin2hex() and hex2bin() funtions for encription key.
I wanted to ask can it be used (meaning without negative impact) with CI 2.2.1?

Yes, you can use that in CI2 as well.

However, CI2's CI_Encrypt class is now deprecated, so you really should upgrade to C3 and use the new CI_Encryption class.
