I'm currently making my own DB abstraction which will be a replacement for CI's db abstraction. It will also be standalone.
(I'm bored with waiting for my MacBook, need something else to do
no worries, I'm also working on the new manual for IgnitedRecord, but it is going sloow)
It is also meant to include an orm (optional), which I will base on IgnitedRecord and IgnitedQuery (probably means a partial rewrite of them)
I'm focusing on on demand loading of everything (if AR is needed, it is loaded, no config needed).
Compatibility will also be quite good with the old implementation
So what I wonder is:
What do you think is good with the current db implementation? What can be improved? Anything missing?
