Slashed Steel CMS - Based on a moded CI

This is the first release of my CMS, if the name intrigues go here.

The CMS is as capable as provided (meaning it will only go as far as the script itself has been designed). The link is here(http://code.google.com/p/slashedsteelcms/), and please read the text on the site since it is very useful.

It is nearly a full CMS, all it requires is a backend which is currently whatever database management tool you have access to (i.e. phpMyAdmin). You can change some of the articles and if you delve deep into the code you should find out how to make your own modules/pages for it.

Also, I would like someone to check the documentation in the wiki since its hard to self-criticise. Here is the article link (http://code.google.com/p/slashedsteelcms...troduction)

Can you tell us more about what makes Slashed Steel different or unique?

You might also consider distributing another archive format beside *.7z. Perhaps something a little more standard? I had to download an application to unarchive it on OSX.

You may want to post a link to the wiki article in this thread...

I wasn't able to run it.
It gives this error:
Code:
An Error Was Encountered
The configuration file home.php does not exist.

and in fact there is no "home.php" in the "config" folder.

Well, I hope that by the time I finish it that it will be one of the very few CMSs geared towards the developers and not someone who wants to run a site. It is also being designed to overcome the main problem of many CMSs which are available now.

One feature which is consistently being worked on is a "turn-key" like system where a random theme can be taken and adopted by the script to be used for the site. This allows the owner to customise each module or page to have a unique style. An example would be forums which would require a slightly different style to a blog or the home page.

Due to the CMS being coded upon CI it is fairly simple to create your own modules through the CI classes alone. The main concept is that this CMS is supposed to be easily altered fixed, changed and extended without large problems.

This *new* ZIP archive file is OK, but I fertilize that this "sql.txt" file does not exist?!?
So I can not test.

Yup there's no SQL script there, impossible to test. Also a hosted Demo would be cool.

How is it a Content Management System if it provides no methods for users to manage their content? This is simply a pre-built frontend for a group of database tables.

Hope to see a little more work on it though, I like having competition to steal... borrow code from ;-)
