moving Application folder from System directory

hi

i'm new at codeigniter and i'm reading the user guide. I'm stuck with http://ellislab.com/codeigniter/user-gui..._apps.html

Using Mamp i moved /Document/Sites/system/application (/Document/Sites is my apache root directory) to /Document/worspace/application (on my file system, away from mamp). I edited my /Document/Sites/index.php but it doesn't work. According to me it's because i'm out of the scale of my Mamp server, it can't reach my file system. Am i right? or did i make a mistake?

i've got another question, i'm not english and i don't understand that sentence :

Note: Each of your applications will need its own index.php file which calls the desired application. The index.php file can be named anything you want.

Do i have to remove the former one? Or duplicate it ?
