Please disregard my issue below. I got it figured all out.

I am trying to run a simple update via active record. It says it runs the update but it doesn't really update the database. The weird thing is when I run
echo $this->db->last_query();
I take the output from that and paste it into my query window on my database client and it runs the query just fine. Has anyone else run into anything like this?
I have tried everything. Any help is truly appreciated.
