Fatal error: Using $this when not in object context

that seems to have worked for the header.php although I dont think its including all of the header.php file as my flash banner and style sheet are missing.

also how do you get the php include for the footer working...

can I just do the same but instead replace the include with

<?=$footer?>

and in control write

Code:

$data['footer'] = $this->load->view('footer',TRUE);

//... some other code maybe?

$this->load->view('index_view',$data);

would this be ok? any ideas why its not including my header correctly I suppose I can always copy the info out of their and onto every page but if I can get it resolved by using a piece of code that would be ace.
