tinymce javascript validation errors

Hi!
i am using a multiple tinyMCE editors on one page and trying to validate whether user has left it blank if yes then alert will be displayed. This i am doing at onsubmit event of form. i used

tinyMCE.triggerSave();
   alert(tinyMCE.get('elm3').getContent());

but contents are not displayed and also the form is getting submitted directly without validating other fields. The init() function for the tinyMCE is as below

Its working fine in FF but in IE its giving above problem.
