CodeIgniter sitemap problems

Hi, I made a very simple sitemap generator, that has it's own controller, model and view. The sitemap is structured correctly, I just copied the view source, threw it in Notepad++ and saved as sitemap.xml but when I submitted it through Google Webmaster Tools, it generated a whole lot of invalid URL errors... I can't see why... My URLs are structured like this:
www.example.com/index.php/countries/
Is it because the index.php is infront of the rest? Or is it because the URL doesn't end with an extension? Please help

Do your url's start with http:// ?
