is CI 2.0 ready for production?

I'll start a new project soon, and I want to use CI 2.0 I guess if Expression Engine uses it should be ready to use with minor bugs it's that right?

CI 2.0 is actually bug free that 1.7.2.

The code base is the same, 2.0 (as of today) only introduces minor features, but has quite some bugfixes compared to 1.7.2. I've been using it for months now, without any issues.

CI2 is nice to work with. I am currently using it to develop an in-house CMS.

It is not on the front page yet, but as WanWizard it is more stable than 1.7.2.

I would look through the code of CI 2.0 and get all the new stuff i like from it and implement into the CI 1.7.2, but only things that i think are worth adding/changing. I would still not go with clean installation of CI 2.0 until it gets on the front page as some suggested here.

Haha yeah... go waste your time merging CI 2.0 into 1.7.2.
CI 2.0 is ready. It's as simple as that.

I got your point, but i never use CI out of the box, i have tweaked it to suit my needs and i know the code very well, so 2,3 days instead of getting high/drunk i would fix it (I already did). After all it's my own decision, not something that i tell everybody to use.
