Form validation rules functions

Hello,

I am just learning the code igniter and i am in part with FORM validating. In document is written that we can use in parametr every function with 1 parameter.

I was searching the min_length function in php.net and there isn't this function, so it's some personal Code Igniter function ? Is there any list of CI personal functions ?

Is working function length ? When we just want only 5 digits in form so can i use function is_numeric ?

min_length etc are parameters that you set for form_validation they are not functions!
