Dear Ellislabs,
Why do you kill of the Core branch?
I was so happy with Core. It was CodeIgniter like I knew it, but with security patches from Reactor. I like the switch to git, but could you please keep Core. Make it a different branch? I really have no use for Reactor and the features it brings.
While the slow version releases might have been a thorn in the sides of some developers, it is this slow and stable release that makes CodeIgniter a framework I could build a company on. I have no use for continuously, changing, backward compatibility breaking features, that I will never use (environments in the *core* comes to mind).
So while I understand the switch to Reactor and the confusion having both Core and Reactore caused for new users, I hope you could keep a Core branch supported for those of us who love CodeIgniter, but don't see the added value of Reactor.
