confusion about where to install sparks

Hi,

I have some confusion and need to clarify as to where to install sparks.

The installation instructions say to install into my application root.

So for www/mysite/

The it should be www/mysite/sparks right?

Well I did that with a Shawn McCools great php-active record tutorials and it works perfectly.

But then I tried fire_log spark with hmvc and I had to install sparks to
www/mysite/application/sparks to get it to load.

I used the fixed loader and module files from Sean Downey provided here http://getsparks.org/set-up-mx

So basically my question is when the instructions refer to the application root are they referring to the directory where application and system exist or are they literally referring to the directory called application? Normally this would be obvious that they are referring to htdocs, www, or in my case "www/mysite" but I'm confused because moving sparks into the "application" directory fixed the issue with fire_log and I also saw another post where the person installed it into the "application" directory.
