Alternative to PayPal for Accepting Credit Card Payments?

After putting days into getting my site working with PayPal, I just found out, via a line buried in the PayPal documentation, that PayPal won't let you buy a subscription via a credit card - only via a PayPal account.

My site will be offering services by subscription.

Is there another trusted credit card handling service, that will take credit card payments for subscriptions?

It turns out that PayPal has another service, PayFlow, that does handle subscriptions via credit cards.

I also found that my local bank has arrangements with Authorize.net and Cybersource.

Google Checkout is pretty good. They charge 2% + $0.20 per transaction. No install fee.
