it has own auth library,  cms module,  news module, video gallery,  gallery and pool module
also uses hybrid auth for social integration

daily 50.000+ unique visitors
uses ci apc cahce driver  for performance

Great example.
Though on PHP 5.6 it should run significantly faster as it already has built-in opcache. And I think nginx is a more reliable and faster solution, just in my experience it is.

BTW, you have so many requests to external ad networks that it really slows down the whole browsing experience.
