CodeIgniter & BIRT Reports

I´m trying to integrate BIRT Reports in CodeIgniter.

Does anyone know if it´s possible to do this without the java-php-bridge?

I´m asking, because it seem like the latest version of the j-p-bridge doesn´t work with the latest version of BIRT.
