CI + Dedicated Server

Hello!

I'm fresh to web applications and to the CI community, and I would like to say how thrilled I am of being in this forum!

CI is a dream.

But now after loads of programming here comes the obstacle! Hosting... I'm not sleeping at night because of it!

I'm sure some people here are quite or very experienced, and I would be really happy if you could recommend what server and company to take off with.

I'm aiming for a "portal style" CI web app, I wouldn't know what to compare it with... maybe as heavy as Bebo for example but with a much smaller userbase and database, would like to be stable up to somewhere between a 100mb db and 50 queries/second and 300mb db and 200queries/second.

I'm new so maybe I'm asking something impossible to answer. I know. But at least I would be very happy with some Company recommendations. There are loads of spam out there it's impossible for me to have an idea. :long:

I hope I'll have some awesome replies! And thank you to everyone that answers! :wow:

There is always EngineHosting by the same folks (EllisLab) that brought you CI and EE:

http://www.enginehosting.com/web_hosting...dedicated/

Then you have:

Dreamhost: https://dreamhost.com/hosting.html
MediaTemple: http://www.mediatemple.net/
Joyent (TextDrive):http://www.joyent.com/connector/web-hosting/

One of those should be good.

SliceHost is great if you have some admin knowledge. They setup a slice for you and you do whatever you want yourself. Absolutely fantastic if you ever plan to dabble into Ruby/Python a little.
