How to create thumbnail of an video file.

Hello all
I need help to create thumbnail of an video. I am working on a videos related site in which i have to create thumbnail of an uploaded video.
Any one has done this kind of functionality in Codeigniter. There are lots of classes available but before using this i need to know is this possible in Codeigniter or not.

IF anyone have any inbuilt code of library or helper please provide me, it will help me a lot and will save my time too.
