I am familiar with codeigniter, I like it, I enjoy using it, So I am currently thinking of doing my next project in codeigniter for a client.
My question how long can I expect codeigniter 2.xx versions to be supported (especially for security issues) ? Also how smooth of an upgrade will be upgrading from 2.xx to 3.0 ? It looks quite straightforward (in the dev guide ).
Lastly how essential would it be to upgrade from 2.xx to 3.0 ? (when it gets released of course)
