can't get codeigniter to pull up

OK, I installed Xampp, and it is working fine. I placed the CI folder in 3 places, in an effort to solve the issue.
1 place:: in my applications folder, with the Xampp folder
2nd place:: in the Xampp folder
3rd place:: in the Xampp/htdocs folder

I did update the config file for CodeIgniter. I even updated the Xampp index file to point to the CodeIgniter folder. None of this works.

Can someone assist me with this setup?

OK, the files go in the root of the XAMPP folder. Don't know why I didn't realize this.

OK, the above did not work. When I goto http://127.0.0.1 I get the XAMPP home page. I'm trying to get to the CodeIgniter home page.

This should be simple. I know I'm supposed to upload the code Igniter files to the root of my server, but I'm unsure of where exactly my server is. Is it in the XAMPP folder, in the Applications folder, or somewhere else. I'd really like to start learning CodeIgniter, but can't even get the homepage to pull up.

Can someone please assist me with the initial setup? This should be easy.

OK, I got it, after finding the answer elsewhere. The root is in the htdocs, in the XAAMP folder. Pretty simple solution. Now time dig into my CodeIgniter book. I'll try to not post some silly questions in the future.
