Hi i am just new here and just quit my job to start my own venture in the internet and I've learned that codeigniter is the best php framework because of the community.

Hope you could help me understand and learn more about code igniter, I'm a web developer/designer (front end) by profession.

There are some really good tutorials to get you started. Have you had a chance to look over them?

The manual is very well documented an there is an installation section with links to videos.

Basically you will need to setup a lamp stack, download CI and follow the instructions. If you run into issues post them here.

I started on Codeigniter this year and i went through the Tuts+ tutorials and a few on udemy. Once you've grasped the concept of the MVC and how codeigniter works it amazing how quick you can create apps and so on. Also the User guides are second to none and have all the info you need. And like you said about the online community are brilliant even for newbies like me
