going to add to the build your own crowd. I'm in fact doing it right now as I wanted a system built using the MVC concept. A config file to be used for roles, and a user model, make it easy to handle everything from different contollers.

Same for me, that's why my system BackendPro has ACL which no-one offers. I don't mean just roles I mean a full system like phpgacl with management pages. Plus a load of other cool things people never supply.

Neophyte's Khaos ACL certainly does have ACL. It's just not expecting you to conform to its methods of management.

Khaos ACL is not an authentication system, its a authentication system component. And my authentication system does run using his ACL implementation.

I have to say I'm very great full for Neophyte's Khaos ACL, without it I would have had an even larger problem on my hands. Trying to use phpgacl is just a nightmare.
