Codeigniter 3.0 forced uppercase naming of controllers and classes

Question:

If the default ENVIRONMENT constant was temporarily set to "development" would incorrectly named files show?

   define)'ENVIRONMENT', 'development'); 


Fortunately I use Linux so don't have this problem
