I have build a project with CI and i have made it on CDROM (obvious no update in database) with success with this free tool http://www.server2go-web.de. May be this is useful... Ciao !!!

Running a webserver of a cdrom seems strange to me. I rather would have an exe that runs php and php-gtk but as far as i know there is no easy way of accomplishing this.

I'm still not sure how you would interact with a database on a CD. Database are read and write.

I think that "(obvious no update in database)" is clear enough about that =)

Database are read and write.[/quote]As I recall (from a good while ago, grant you), server2go et al copy the DB tables to the hard drive, and point mysql at them. Non permanent, but read-and-write.
