Upgrading from CI3.0.6

I have an old website using CI3.0.6 and the hosting company is still supporting php7.4 so it works fine. But I use wamp for local hosting and more up to date sites require php8.3. If wamp php version is set to 8.3 it throws lots of errors with CI3.0.6. So I would like to upgrade CI3.0.6 to the most recent version CI3.1.13. However, if I do that step by step I would have to do 13 separate upgrades!! Is that really what I have to do or is there a short cut?

If your going to go through all that trouble, why don't you just upgrade to the new CodeIgniter 4.4.4 ?

CI 3.1.13 does not support PHP 8.3, 8.2 and maybe 8.1.

And there is no short cut to 3.1.13.
