Image Manipulation - Is it possible to....

Is it possible in CI to create a blank image and fill it with a color? I know it's possible with gd2/imagemagick but I don't see any function in CI for this.

I need to paste an image on top of a blank image, and automatically generating a blank image would be more convienient than creating one by hand in photoshop or something.

CI is documented pretty well, so as a general rule, if you don't see it in the userguide, its probably not possible. In this case, I think you'd need to drop into GD2 functions.
